Last updated: September 9, 2026

Washington Student Success Coalition ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website at https://wastudentsuccess.org (the "Site"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site or signing up for our newsletter, you agree to the practices described here.

Information We Collect

Information you provide to us. The only personal information we ask you to provide directly is your email address, which you give us when you sign up for our newsletter or news updates. You are not required to create an account to view the Site.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, certain technical information is collected automatically through our hosting platform and analytics tools. This may include your IP address, browser type and settings, device information, the pages you visit, the date and time of your visit, and similar usage data. This information helps us understand how the Site is used and keep it secure.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Send you our newsletter and news updates, if you have signed up.
  • Operate, maintain, and secure the Site.
  • Understand how visitors use the Site so we can improve it.
  • Respond to your questions or requests.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Cookies and Analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to function and to measure usage. Cookies are small files stored on your device.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors interact with the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as your IP address, the pages you view, and how you arrived at the Site, and it uses cookies to do so. You can learn about Google's practices at https://policies.google.com/privacy, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using the browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

Platform analytics. Our website platform, Base44, provides built-in analytics that collect usage and technical information about visits to the Site for performance and security purposes.

Most web browsers let you control or disable cookies through their settings. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of the Site function.

How We Share Information

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

We share information only with the service providers that help us operate the Site and communicate with you, and only as needed for them to perform those services on our behalf. These include:

  • My Emma, which we use to manage our email list and send our newsletter. Your email address is stored with this provider for that purpose.
  • Base44, the platform that hosts and powers the Site. Base44 operates on supporting infrastructure (including Render and Cloudflare) that processes technical information such as IP addresses and server logs to deliver and secure the Site. Base44 is part of the Wix ecosystem.
  • Google Analytics, as described above, for website analytics.

We may also disclose information if required to do so by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of the Coalition, our users, or others.

Data Retention

We keep your email address for as long as you remain subscribed to our newsletter. If you unsubscribe, we remove your address from our active mailing list. Automatically collected analytics and technical data are retained according to the standard settings of the analytics and hosting providers described above.

Your Choices and Rights

Access and deletion. You may contact us to ask what personal information we hold about you, or to request that we correct or delete it. We will respond to reasonable requests consistent with applicable law.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights regarding your personal information under your state's privacy laws. If that applies to you, contact us using the information below and we will work with you to honor those rights as required by law.

Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect the information we collect. Our platform provides encryption in transit (HTTPS) and other security protections. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

The Site and our newsletter are intended for adults. We do not direct the Site to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
