What We Stand For
Our
Values
We exist for all Washington students, with a focus on those furthest from opportunity. We support the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit (FSTC) solely based on its potential to improve their lives and outcomes.
Equity
Students come first, and the students who would benefit the most come first of all. We believe all students deserve access to the resources they need to succeed. We will judge the FSTC by whether it improves the lives and outcomes of Washington students, especially those furthest from opportunity.
Accountability
We support transparency, public oversight, and data privacy. Clear measures and public reporting should show who is served, how funds are used, and whether the FSTC is improving student outcomes, while protecting the personal and financial information of students and families.
Added Resources
The FSTC must be additive, never a substitute for federal education funding. New scholarship support must be added to existing federal investments in public schools, never traded against them.
Public School Access
FSTC funds must work for all students. Roughly nine in ten Washington children attend public schools, so successful implementation of the FSTC must demonstrably benefit public school students.
Member Commitments
Educate stakeholders - staff, families, partners, and community networks - about the program and its impact.
Allow their organization's logo on coalition materials, signaling visible support and building collective credibility.
Commit to helping FSTC succeed for every student in Washington State.
